Gymnocalycium

GYMNOCALYCIUM.jpgThese unusual globular cacti native to South America. They have impressive flowers on white, yellow, pink and red, often greater than’ the plant itself. Since 1941 grown colored species without chlorophyll in all shades from yellow to pink. Because they do not live autonomous, require an underlying green plant which vaccinate, otherwise not bloom. The gymnokalykia want light and fresh air, and sun protection. Summer long for the heat, about’ this pull out. For winter the ideal temperature is 8-10 °C. No problem with the dry atmosphere in the room. Summer only need moderate watering and fertilizer occasionally special for cacti. In winter they want minimal water, not only to dry. Transplant them into soil for cacti special, rich in nutrients and good drainage. The multiplication is done by seeds or suckers.
