Botanical name: Calendula pharmaceutical (Calendula offinialis). It belongs to the family of complex (Asteraceae) and originates from southern Europe. Grown around the world. It is a plant with limited requirements, only sunny place. Reaches a height of up to 60 cm, It's fluffy and has yellow or orange flowers. It blooms from June to October.
The use of this plant has a long tradition not only in the gardens of monasteries of the middle ages and in people. With this have been addressed e.g.. toothaches, diseases of the stomach, the bile, liver, menstrual discomfort and smallpox. Also in the era of the middle ages women were using the flowers of Calendula to paint their hair. In Greece it is also known as yellow Daisy or nekroloyloydo.
